Kia Ora!
Well, here it is I finally succumbed to the power of blogging. I had a twitter, facebook, myspace, msn, aol, three different cell phones, two different emails, and now I'm adding the last straw that will end my life and begin a one of online social networking. Eh, this will be worth it during my trip. Oh yes, I'm leaving Sunday for New Zealand and will be there until this August. That's kind of the point of this blog, to explain everybody my adventures in the land of the Kiwis. Aotearoa: The Land of the Long White Cloud. As I'm there I'll reflect what I did, what I mean to do, what I should have done, and probably a few fibs here and there to keep the blog lively. So as this is my first blog, let me explain the title (which will probably change as I think of a new and better one). It's a play on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, one of my favorite shows because I like food, a lot. Kiwis is obvious (not the fruit or bird, that's what people are called in New Zealand), Hobbits because I love LOTR and we're trying to be extras in the new movie, and Dives because it's the end of the Food Network show and it's a metaphor for my explorations and adventures as I'm "diving" into new and fun things (including bungy jumping). So, hope you all enjoy my blog and the next I talk with you it will be on the plane/airport on my way to Auckland.
